Blog Date – Updated:

BYU MS Taiwan has set up a corporate visiting program where BYU MS members visit companies and corporations within Taiwan to learn more about what the company offers.

In 2022 BYU MS Taiwan has a target to visit 14 corporate offices throughout Taiwan.

Corporate Visit Committee

BYU MS Taiwan has set up a corporate visiting committee that will overseas the corporate visits. Their purpose is:

  • Invite program participants and professional managers of companies to discuss the market and corporate environment, organization and culture and market, trends and development of the company.
  • The purpose of the visits is for the companies, Brigham Young University Management Society and local college students and freshmen in the workplace to have a good understanding of the Taiwanese companies so if they want to seek jobs or have a career there they will know about the company.
  • Seek internship opportunitites before graduating from college.

Preparation Needed Before The Visit

Before any visit to any company, some things need to be done such as:

  • Contact and collect information about the company.
  • If the company is looking to hire, then get the application and other forms out to any relevant graduates or potential employees.
  • Collect and organize data of all the participants and visitors.
  • Make an appointment to the company for an online visit or in-person discussion.
  • Set up the time and let participants know about the time, location and other information.

Once the visit is completed, do a follow-up report and any required follow-up activities.

Program Features :

Some of the company visit program features include:

  • Visits are not affected by things as the pandemic; the visits can be conducted virtually or in-person or a combination of both.
  • Can be conducted anytime. No need to wait for a specific time or month.
  • Can obtain information on the companies in advance for participants to study the company, and do research. This allows the pariticpants to be able to then ask sensible questions.
  • Flexibility – participants can participate online or in-person.
  • Pre-registrations allows for the participants to attach their information and even a resume for the company to review.

Program Benefits

There are many reasons why we feel this is an excellent program and why there are many benefits to the company visits:

  • There is no restriction such as pandemic restrictions.
  • Visitors can get to know the company ahead of time and ask questions before having a face-to-face or interview with the company.
  • BYU MS can also give to the company any questions that have been asked ahead of time so that the company can then answer those questions.
  • Great way for participants and the company to meet and get to know eachother in a less formal setting.
  • Low cost program (not many costs associated) but it can have a huge impact for the companies and potential employees.
  • Allows us to also reach out to Pathway, BYU H, BYU I and BYU students from these coutnries to show them opportunties in their own country for employment.

The BYU MS Asia Area Board feels like the company visits are a great program, and we would love to see every chapter start with a virtual company tour to be held about once a month. It is a great way to keep your BYU MS members engaged and a great way to showcase companies and corporations in your area.
