Business plan – Plan Steps

Attached are some ideas for BYU MS Chapters to support their competitors in the Business Plan Competition. These simple steps can help you identify, train, and mentor your participants effectively.

3 Steps for BYU MS Chapter Leaders to Grow and Plan for the Business Plan Competition

Below are 3 simple steps that all BYU MS One Asia Leaders can take to support the Business Plan Competition in their areas

Identify

    • Begin by identifying small companies, teams, or individuals in your area who could benefit from participating in the business plan competition.
    • Promote the competition through church channels like Self-Reliance programs, BYU Pathways, and other community resources.
    • Focus on finding participants who would gain the most from creating and presenting a business plan.

    Train

      • Organize training sessions to prepare participants for the competition.
      • Consider offering programs like the “MBS (Master of Business in the Streets)” class, ACE courses, or other relevant workshops that can help teach the essentials of business planning.
      • Training is critical for equipping participants with the skills they need to succeed in the competition.

      Mentor

        • Identify mentors who can guide participants through the process of developing their business plans.
        • Encourage mentors to review the plans, provide constructive feedback, and offer support throughout the competition.
        • If needed, reach out to BYU MS or the Business Plan Competition team for assistance in finding qualified mentors.

The BYU MS One Asia and Business Plan Competition team are always available to support you in this important initiative!
