Graduating from BYUH in 2003 with a Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management, Nutthanoo embarked on a remarkable voyage of self-discovery and academic pursuit.
Reflecting on her academic journey, she reminisces, “When I first graduated from BYUH, I did not know what I would want to do as a career at all.” However, fate had a different plan for her as she returned to Thailand, eventually pursuing her master’s degree in Cultural Management at Chulalongkorn University in 2009.

Nutthanoo’s experiences at Chulalongkorn University were marked by rigorous academic challenges intertwined with enriching cultural experiences. Recounting her time there, she shares, “The professors were more strict yet very friendly and very open, but the assignments and the workload were enormous.” Despite the academic rigor, Nutthanoo found solace in the camaraderie of her classmates, forming lasting bonds that transcended the classroom.
Professional Growth at the Polynesian Cultural Center
Her professional journey led her to the Polynesian Cultural Center, where she immersed herself in various roles, including waitress, dishwasher, and usher. Reflecting on her time at the center, Nutthanoo recalls, “Working there as a whole experience was the best. I met many fun and interesting people who helped, taught, and showed great examples.” The center provided her with invaluable work experience and instilled in her the virtues of humility and compassion.
Impact of BYUH on Personal and Professional Development
Nutthanoo attributes much of her personal and professional development to her education at BYUH. “BYU-Hawaii’s education has given me a broader view of the world in almost every aspect,” she explains. Inspired by her alma mater’s ethos of service and global engagement, Nutthanoo returned to her hometown to become an English tutor, empowering students to pursue their dreams with enhanced English proficiency.

Her journey underscores the transformative power of cultural diversity and global engagement. “All the experiences from studying and working overseas allow me to become a lot less ignorant and more flexible in understanding people,” Nutthanoo reflects.
