Complementary Missions
Leadership development is pivotal to the Academy’s mission of fostering entrepreneurship. Tan emphasizes, “We support chapters and train their leaders to assist aspiring entrepreneurs among their members. Launching Leaders, as a personal development program, increases the capacity of our community’s leadership to handle the challenges of their roles.”
Success Stories and Personal Growth
While broad success stories are still in the making, as the rollout is in its initial stages, Tan shares a personal testament to the program’s impact. “The Launching Leaders program has been a valuable opportunity to reflect and realign my purpose. The Cycle of Spiritual Guidance offers a repeatable model based on gospel principles. Looking back, I realize this model has been instrumental in my past successes, even before I formally recognized it.”
Integration of Entrepreneurial Insights
The Academy has seamlessly integrated the Launching Leaders program into its chapter development process. Tan explains, “We have five stages in our chapter development, with Launching Leaders following the onboarding and Duty to Lead training. We see this as a personal capability-building program, essential for all chapter leaders.”
Mentorship: A Pillar of Growth
Mentorship is a cornerstone of the Launching Leaders program and the Academy’s strategy. “Starting and growing businesses are fraught with uncertainties. A learned and experienced mentor helps mentees avoid bad decisions while acquiring invaluable knowledge. We encourage our alumni and chapter leaders to seek mentors continuously. Our recent Annual Conference provided numerous mentoring opportunities and invited successful members to become mentors,” says Tan.
Under the guidance of leaders like Luis Phillip Tan, the Academy for Creating Enterprise and the Launching Leaders program are shaping competent leaders and nurturing a robust entrepreneurial ecosystem in the Philippines.
