BYU Management Society – Building Up Chapters

I have been working with our Area BYU MS chapters to review their progress over the last few months. Our goal for the area is to have as many chapters of award-winning excellence chapters as possible.

In doing my training with the chapters, I started to look at things that helped build up a BYU Management Society Chapter and came up with four keywords: Inclusive, Invite, communicate and meet. As BYU Management Society is an organization with programs to help people help themselves, the chapters must understand how to build up a BYU MS Chapter.

BYU Management Society Is An inclusive Organization

The BYU Management Society is an inclusive organization. What this means is that all are invited to attend. You do not need to be a Brigham Young University graduate to be part of the BYU Management Society – we encourage everyone to join us.

BYU graduates, BYU Hawaii graduates, BYU Idaho graduates, & college graduates, non-Byu graduates, BYU Pathway students, Return missionaries of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, young single adults, members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and non-members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Everyone is encouraged to join us. We are a completely open and inclusive organization that invites all to come and join and participate together with us in our programs.

BYU Management Society Invites All

As we are an inclusive organization, we invite all to come to join us. Many of the high-quality programs that we offer are 100% free.

You may need to be a local BYU Management Society Chapter member for some programs. Any fees taken are usually minimal to help the chapter have some essential money to function as a chapter.

We see the BYU Management Society as a tool to help people help themselves. Our goal is to invite all to come and join us as we offer high-quality programs that focus on personal development, professional development, and moral and ethical leadership.

BYU Management Society Chapters Need To Communicate

The BYU Management Society Chapters need to build up their chapters through proper communication. Communication is the key to letting people know and understand the outstanding programs we offer.

Here are some ways that we suggest that you work to build up your chapters communication:

  • Keep Member Lists – Keep the members list of all your members. Keep their basic information, including name, email, telephone number, and address or location. This will help you to be able to know and understand your BYU management Society members better.
  • Social Media – Today, there are many ways people communicate, such as on social media. In some areas of the world, they use WhatsApp and other places on WeChat. In some places, Facebook is widespread, and in other sites, it may be another program. Find out how the people in your country communicate best, and then make sure you have a presence on that social media platform.
  • Set A Schedule And Way To Communicate – It is no good to have all this information if you don’t use it and if you are not communicating. We suggest that you set up a schedule and a way to communicate. For example, monthly, send out information to all of your members and let them know what programs are coming up or what programs you have done. This could be as simple as an email, or it could be as fancy as a newsletter. How you decide to communicate is up to you; the most important is finding a way to communicate.

Communication is so vital to the BYU Management Society that we put communication as one of the ways to build up a BYU Management Society Chapter. Find the best ways for you and start to set a time, and be consistent. Being consistent in communication is one of the most important things you can do as a BYU Management Society Chapter.

BYU Management Society Purposeful Meeting

The BYU Management Society is about gathering people together to meet purposefully. Our meeting should have a reason and not just meet to meet.

That is why the BYU Management Society can offer many high-quality programs to our chapters. Some of the high-quality programs that we emphasize in our area include:

  • Launching Leaders – Launching leaders is a top-quality program accessible to all BYU Management Society members. It is a program that is focused on helping individuals to be able to focus their lives and help build future leaders.
  • Masters Business In The Streets – The Masters of Business in the Street program with Interweave Solutions based in Provo, Utah. The program is about helping individuals grow their successful businesses, making a personal improvement plan, and creating a community service plan.
  • Mentoring, or The Young Professionals Engagement Program – The objective of the young professional’s engagement programs is to help young adults select and jumpstart their careers by connecting with and learning from professionals in their career field of interest. This is about helping to connect individuals to improve their lives.
  • Company Visits – A company visit is where Byu MS will target specific companies to visit. This can be in person or virtually. The visits allow prospective employees and employers to learn about each other and the company.
  • My Story – My story is a focused webinar where the BYU Management Society has worthy individuals tell their stories to members of the Byu management society; the individuals giving their stories can be ordinary people who are doing extraordinary things to live their lives with Moral & Ethical Leadership.
  • Webinars – Many chapters have had great success in holding webinars. These webinars can be virtual or in person. For example, our Hong Kong chapter will hold a monthly virtual lunch bunch where they have a speaker during lunchtime.

As you can see from all of these programs, the BYU Management Society is an organization whose focus is to give individuals tools to help individuals help themselves and improve their lives. We are an education, training, and mentoring-focused organization that believes in assisting others to be successful.

If you are not already a member of a BYU Management Society Chapter, we invite you to come to join us and become part of Brigham Young University’s Management Society.
